The 1975

This moment right here, the moment my CD booklet had just been sign by the British gods from The 1975. This was one of the greatest moments in my life to happen so far. Lets start from the beginning shall we?

The weekend started off in a mad panic when my fangirl buddy Jessie and I were minutes late for catching our bus up to Auckland, the land of all things pretty and basically the only place celebrities visit. But after chasing the bus for a good half an hour, the bus driver let us on the bus at the next stop. We were on our way as happy as can be, well maybe not so much Jessie as she was a little bit hungover curled up againsed the wall trying not to vomit. Thank you Jessie for not doing that! That night we decided to go out for dinner, on our way home a small group were already sitting outside JB HI-FI on Queenstreet where the signing was going to happen the following day. Since only the first 250 people through the door were guaranteed to meet the band we were starting to freak out abit. We went home and set our alarms and aimed to get to Queenstreet at 6am.

5:30am rolls over and we get ready to head down. As we get closer the line doesn't look to bad untill we hit the corner. The line goes up along 3 different streets. So we find the end of the line and let the waiting games begin. One girl estimated that we were around 280th in line. Around 8:30am I'm still unsure what happend but in unison the fans got up and started to run, like a herd of cow that had just been spooked. 300ish crazy fangirls and fanboys (Jessie and myslef being 2 of them) squashed on a couple of meters on Queenstreet, all fighting there way to the front so they could get one of the magical yellow wristbands to let them in the door when it hit 12:30.

After about an hour the store managers and security guards had put everyone back into an orderly line and sitting on the sidewalk. The next 5 and a half hours were actually quite fun - I know sitting on the sidewalk for 5 and a half hours doesnt seem fun but yes it really was. The girls around me became really good friends, following each other on every social media platform and having quality banter. Zm radio rolled up and handed out SO much chocolatte and party mix lollies that one could handle this early in the morning. We convinced ZM to let us use there portable speaker and we blasted The 1975 untill the batteries run flat.

Nothing brings people together more than shareing the same love for something or someone.

It got to 1pm and there were a lot of fangirls walking passed us crying and shaking in the realisation they had just met the boys. We were so close to the front we could feel the excitment bubbling up from the pit of our stomachs, but we knew at any moment the band could call it and stop anyone else from coming in. Another hour went by until we hear those magic words "you girls will be going in next" my hands were shaking and my heart was beating fast. We were going in this was it, after 8 hours were finally going inside!

Alexia a fellow fangirl I had met that day was in front of me, she was up next, Matty was sitting right there on the first chair of the table. She was so shocked she could only spit out was "I dont even know what to say to you" and all Matty could respond to that was a shoulder shrug and an adorble facial expression saying "Thats fine" and OH MY GOSH that british accent just melted my heart. Just witnessing that moment had made the 8 hours worth it. All I remember about my interaction with the band is their dreamy accents and George telling me he likes NZ. By the time I walked out of JB HI-FI my smile was going from ear to ear and my heart was beating like crazy.

I would like to thank The 1975 for lengthing the signing, which let me experience this wonderful moment and giving me this great day with great friends. You champs!

If you wanna find love then you know where the city is
